blackberry-8900-o2I am a cell phone fanatic for you who don’t know, if my wife would let me I would probably buy a new phone every month and swap them around every week.  It has been about a month and a half since the new Blackberry 8900 from RIM came out for T-Mobile and I finally got a chance to play with one.

For you curve users this is a must have, the OS has been updated to the new blackberry OS, it looks the same as the Storm and the Bold.  Browsing around the menu is really smooth and about twice as fast as the old curve.  This is a really slick phone and makes me miss having a blackberry.  This is one of the most responsive phones I have ever used, applications load quickly, texting and MMS are easy, and it is just super fast! I can’t get enough of how fast it is, plus it looks great, the screen quality is very crisp and clear, it looks almost as good as the Bold, the 8900 has a slightly smaller screen than the Bold and that is what makes the bold screen a bit better.  There is no 3G on this phone (but T-Mobile doesn’t really have a 3G network) but the internet pages loaded pretty quickly, while I still don’t like the blackberry browser it is much better and you can flow through the pages quicker and more smoothly, I still prefer the Opera Mini browser on the blackberry.  The only problem I had was with the GPS and google maps it took FOREVER to find my location and load maps, but once it did they looked great.  It is slightly thinner than the old curve, the keyboard is really nice to type on and feels a little more solid than the old curve.  Over all this is such a great phone, one reason I love blackberry’s are you can do what you want with the phone.  i love my iPhone but my complaint is, it’s my phone and I should be able to do whatever I want with it without having to jailbreak it, comparing to the blackberry Apple leaves no room for you to do what you want with your phone and customize it, plus if you need a phone for e-mail, nothing compares to a blackberry, and the battery life on these are killer, you can go a couple days with good use without charging, my iPhone is almost dead at the end of the day.  But back to the berry, if you are on T-Mobile or can find an unlocked version of this go get it, it is definitely the best berry to date, I think even better than the Bold.  It is small and sleek feels good in your hands, and it will get looks, and questions from people when you are using it.
