Copy RAZR Contacts to Memory Card?

I recently had someone enquire whether or not they could copy the contacts from their SIM card to the removable memory card in the phone. The answer is a sad no, the interface on the phone will not allow you to do that but you do have a few options. If you want to back your contacts up you can connect the phone to your computer and save them to your Outlook or iCal. Most phone companies have a service that they wirelessly back contacts up, but usually for a charge, or you can copy the contacts to the phone itself. I will leave some instructions for that, good luck to anyone and my suggestion is if you worry that much about your contacts, buy a Blackberry or other smart phone.
First, go to your list of contacts (top of screen says address book). Each entry that is on the SIM has a small icon to the left of the contact name. Entries in the list with no icon are on your phone. Next, select “Options,” then scroll down to “Copy To Phone.” This will copy one highlighted contact to your phone. If you want to copy all of your SIM contacts to your phone. Under “Options,” scroll down to “Select Multiple To,” and then scroll down to “Copy SIM to phone.” This gets them all in one step. This will now leave you with two copies of each contact, that is the downside, so if you want you can just delete all the contacts on your SIM or leave both copies on if you worry about loosing them. Some phones give you the option to view either the SIM contacts, or the phone contacts, but I believe the RAZR does not allow you to do that. Good luck, enjoy, and if anyone has any suggestions or personal experience please let us know.
