tree2Christmas is but a few days away, most of us are done with school, and hopefully many of us don’t have to work much this next week, and of course we have been Christmas shopping and are all done, and have the presents wrapped and under the tree…no you say more shopping left? Well here is my gift guide for christmas or any other December holiday you celebrate because lets face it, Hanukah, and Kwanzaa should get in on the tech gifts too. Feel free to add any gifts you feel should be on the list, these are just my top choices.

ps31. Play Station 3 – I have been completely enamored with this machine. It plays blu-rays,(it is one of the more top quality blu-ray players on the market as well) you can stream avi wmv divx and other movie files from your computer to the your TV or you can just copy them to the 120 or 250 GB hard drive in it, along with that you can stream music or put it on your hard drive, you can also stream netflix movies through it, oh and you can play video games on it. With an ever improving game library this a must have for the gamer and movie goer.

motorola-droid-22. Motorola Droid – The latest of the many Android handsets coming to the market is by far the best so far. It has a 3.7 inch high resolution screen, of which I have never seen a phone with a better looking screen. The android market has almost 20,000 apps now, and the android OS is shaping up to be a very nice OS and is easy to pick up and learn, not iPhone easy, but anyone with a little tech knowledge can learn it quick. It has an on screen keyboard, as well as a slide out qwerty keyboard. It comes stock with Google-Nav a free turn by turn navigation program, email and web browsing capabilities. (only available on Verizon)

iphone3gs3. iPhone 3Gs – What list would be complete without the iPhone? Ahhh the beloved iPhone, if you don’t know what an iPhone is or what it does, then you need to read our site more or turn on a TV. A multi touch capable, high quality video recording little piece of wonder that has access to over 100,000 apps in its app store, it doesn’t get much better than this when it comes to a phone. (Available on AT&T, but can work with T-Mobile)

star-trek-blu-ray-jj-abrams4. Star Trek(2009) on Blue-ray – Even better than the theatre quality, you wont miss a drop of sweat running down captain Pike’s forehead as he is being tortured. It has a full disk of special features that I think is about 30 hours worth, so enough to fulfill your Star Trek cravings for at least a day and a half. If you want a nice full 1080 experience then you need this for your collection.

windows75. Windows 7 – While I am not a fan of Microsoft and it is hard for me to condone buying a PC, this is the best OS they have come up with to date. I do feel they borrowed a few thinks from OS X, but it is unique looking interface and feels pretty smooth. If you have a PC this is a must have upgrade, and there is no better excuse to buy it then now.

apple-magic-mouse6. Apple Magic Mouse – This is kind of a…I don’t want to say useless piece of equipment but not the most necessary, even so it is pretty awesome. A full touch pad top on the mouse lets you do finger scrolling and gives you multi touch, and swiping to switch screens. If $70 is nothing to you and you need a new mouse put this on the list.

kindle-nook7. E-Reader – I have played with my dads Sony E-reader a little and really like it, the Sony branded one is not my favorite, I would go with the Nook or Kindle. eInk displays look great, are easy on the eyes, and have a good feel while reading them. With a wide variety of books, magazines and newspapers this is perfect for the book nerd, and the traveler. Now all they need to do is put text books on these to lighten my backpack load.

apple_airport_extreme8. Wireless N Router – Wireless N is becoming much more popular these days and is pretty much standard in most computers and many more devices. An N router will give you faster speeds so you can get more out of that high speed connection of yours, and gives you a longer range. Another benefit of the N is if you fun multiple devices it can handle it better than the G routers so while running more devices off your router an N will give you better connectivity and better speeds. If you rely heavily on your router go for the Apple Airport extreme, very reliable and works with any device, or the Netgear DGN2000 both are duel band meaning they work with b/g/n at the same time, I have had great experience with Netgear they are by far my favorite routers.

flip-ultra-mino-video-cameras-420x3709. Flip Ultra HD – A small portable video recorder that gives you 120 minutes of HD recording, now you wont miss a moment, from your child quoting star wars, to your cat falling off the ledge, you will be posting youtube videos in no time, or filming family activities or wake boarding, just don’t drop it in the water, they may not replace it.

blackberry-bold970010. Blackberry Bold 9700 – I cant end the list without another phone, this is my favorite Blackberry so far, and I dare anyone to find a better blackberry. I have a great love for Blackberrys and this one just shows RIM is stepping up their hardware (now they need to work on that OS a little more) complete with a trackpad that replaces the out of date trackball, if you worry you will miss that old trackball, use this for about .5 seconds and you’ll wonder why you ever used the trackball. A crystal clear display, easy to use buttons and a smooth looking design. If you are a texter and e-mailer i still say there is nothing better than a Blackberry.(Available on AT&T and T-Mobile)

That’s a really great list of tech gifts you’ve compiled! It’s really interesting you put a wireless n router on your list but you’re completely right “Wireless N is becoming much more popular these days and is pretty much standard in most computers and many more devices. An N router will give you faster speeds so you can get more out of that high speed connection of yours, and gives you a longer range.” Who wouldn’t want a gift that does all that for Christmas? I noticed you mention NetGear but Buffalo Tech has some awesome wireless n routers at pretty good prices.

Anyways, great list, I was thoroughly entertained reading through it.
