Word on the street from a few developers that Apple has released version 3.1 OS to select developers.  Question is what will it be?  I can tell you this, it is not for MMS, it is already built into 3.0 it is the carrier file that needs updating.  I had my carrier file updated and am running MMS on my 3G and it is fully functioning.  I don’t really think it is for bug fixes, when they do bug fixes they release them as 3.0.1 or such.  My guess would be they are doing it to patch the hole that allows ultrasn0w to work to unlock phones or to undo jailbreaks, but even then they usually name them 3.0.1 and such.  It could be to improve battery life, some have suggested they are putting voice command and video recording for the 3G (but I seriously doubt it, that is not Apple’s style).  Other than that I have no idea, but if I get my hands on a developer copy of the 3.1 I will install and give everyone an update.  For now we will wait in suspense.
