Since I have recently acquired a G1 and have been playing with it (still waiting on T-MO for the unlock code!!! to use it on AT&T) I have to be up on the android news so here is some good info for all you android lovers, some upgrades to the recent cupcake OS. Donut will include such features as multi-touch support, universal search, text-to-speech, automated backups and a redesigned camera app (hopefully better video support, it stinks pretty bad). New widgets including a much welcome home screen toggle for things like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, screen brightness and more. Also rumored is CDMA radio support (the network Verizon, Sprint, and Cricket are on) this may be because Dan Hesse of Sprint has recently announced they will be jumping on the Android wagon. No release date yet but hopefully this will not take as long as the cupcake took to make, because I am looking forward to some sweet multi-touch action on the G1! Check out some pics below.

If you are a Gmail, or GoogleCal user you may have noticed they finally took off the beta tag that has been on there for about a million years now, who knew they would ever take that off?  This new change led me to think of a few things, first I wonder if there will be some exciting new changes coming to Gmail or they only took it off since millions of people and over 1.5 million businesses use Gmail and GoogleCal they thought it is finally the finished product.  But for some reason the main thing it made me think about is two of the little known Google services I use almost everyday that I thought every person in the world knew about, and that is Goog411.  I still talk to people all the time who say they have never heard of this, so here is a run down.  I don't know many people who like paying 75 cents to call 411 to get a number, so next time you are in a jam just call 1800-GOOG-411 (466-4411) it is totally free and has maybe one or twice not been able to find the number or business I was ...

Bad news for gamers. Starcraft 2, Blizzard's much anticipated sequel to one of the best games ever, will not have LAN support. Apparently the designers felt that the only way to fight piracy was to take this drastic measure. Rob Pardo of Blizzard said, "“we don’t have any plans to support LAN, we will not support it.” With these new developments, the only multiplayer gaming available will be on Battle.net. This move makes sense, as people who pirate the game will be unable to play on Battle.net, it will most likely just anger different gaming groups who will pirate the game en masse to "stick it" to Blizzard and we all know a workaround will eventually come around. As an avid LANer, this move saddens me. I don't enjoy playing games online. Getting a bunch of computers together to play games and have a LAN party is a much more social activity than some people might think. Whatever happens, this game is still going to be awesome!

Word on the street from a few developers that Apple has released version 3.1 OS to select developers.  Question is what will it be?  I can tell you this, it is not for MMS, it is already built into 3.0 it is the carrier file that needs updating.  I had my carrier file updated and am running MMS on my 3G and it is fully functioning.  I don't really think it is for bug fixes, when they do bug fixes they release them as 3.0.1 or such.  My guess would be they are doing it to patch the hole that allows ultrasn0w to work to unlock phones or to undo jailbreaks, but even then they usually name them 3.0.1 and such.  It could be to improve battery life, some have suggested they are putting voice command and video recording for the 3G (but I seriously doubt it, that is not Apple's style).  Other than that I have no idea, but if I get my hands on a developer copy of the 3.1 I will install and give everyone an update.  For now we will wait in suspense.
