If you read my complaint you will know why my review is coming out so late, but I am doing it anyways. I rushed home from school as quick as I could when my wife told me the leopard was in our apartment, and quickly began the install. Installation time took a little under an hour, which isnt too bad. I updated both my computers and had no trouble or hickups during it. I heard that 10.6 has a smaller footprint and it sure does, on my macbook pro it freed up a wopping 16 GB, and I kid you not. I had 106 BG available and I checked it right after the install was complete and it said 122 GB available pretty amazing. On my iMac it freed up about 6.5 GB, which is close to the average they said it would be. I am not sure why there was such a difference, but I am very happy about it. AT&T announced that they are finally getting the MMS support to the iPhone on September 25th, I guess AT&T's idea of late summer is really late, unless they are using a different calender system where September is still summer. The reason for the stated delay is that they are expecting record numbers of MMS being send and had to beef up their network to handle it, who knows? In a few more week iPhone owners will receive the update through software update in itunes and now will have something new to complain about, MMS is slow or not working sometimes. I wanted to write a big thank you to the incredibly huge moron at the Apple Store in the Gateway mall in downtown Salt Lake City, for telling me last Monday,  "Oh you don't need to order the snow leopard upgrade on line to get it for $9.95, you can just come in on Friday and pick it up, since you live colose to the store that will be easier for you". So Friday after school and skipped down to the Apple Store with a huge smile on my face anticipating the moment I had that disk in the clutches of my hands.  Alas, like a child learning Santa Claus is not real I heard these dreadful words after I said, "one copy of snow leopard please".  "That will be $29.99" then the women helping candidly explained that the $9.95 deal is only available online, and that the sales rep who told me that must have been misinformed.  So instead of loading the new OS (yes a new OS, because it is and if you want to call it an expensive service pack then you better be willing to call MS Win 7 a very very expensive service pack, but ...

Word on the street from a few developers that Apple has released version 3.1 OS to select developers.  Question is what will it be?  I can tell you this, it is not for MMS, it is already built into 3.0 it is the carrier file that needs updating.  I had my carrier file updated and am running MMS on my 3G and it is fully functioning.  I don't really think it is for bug fixes, when they do bug fixes they release them as 3.0.1 or such.  My guess would be they are doing it to patch the hole that allows ultrasn0w to work to unlock phones or to undo jailbreaks, but even then they usually name them 3.0.1 and such.  It could be to improve battery life, some have suggested they are putting voice command and video recording for the 3G (but I seriously doubt it, that is not Apple's style).  Other than that I have no idea, but if I get my hands on a developer copy of the 3.1 I will install and give everyone an update.  For now we will wait in suspense.
