I wanted to write a big thank you to the incredibly huge moron at the Apple Store in the Gateway mall in downtown Salt Lake City, for telling me last Monday,  "Oh you don't need to order the snow leopard upgrade on line to get it for $9.95, you can just come in on Friday and pick it up, since you live colose to the store that will be easier for you". So Friday after school and skipped down to the Apple Store with a huge smile on my face anticipating the moment I had that disk in the clutches of my hands.  Alas, like a child learning Santa Claus is not real I heard these dreadful words after I said, "one copy of snow leopard please".  "That will be $29.99" then the women helping candidly explained that the $9.95 deal is only available online, and that the sales rep who told me that must have been misinformed.  So instead of loading the new OS (yes a new OS, because it is and if you want to call it an expensive service pack then you better be willing to call MS Win 7 a very very expensive service pack, but ...

Ever since Lifehacker did a post on a standard PC running OSx86, I've been amazed at how fast the community has progressed. After buying a new laptop a few months (and discovering Keynote), I decided the time was right to do a dual-boot of Windows 7 and OSX. With a 1TB solid-state disk (SSD) drive, a 16-in. high-definition display, a Blu-ray drive and leather-covered panel rests. You read that right, leather hand rests. Salivating yet? The hard drive boasts a data-transfer burst speed of 300MB/sec., a sustained read speed of 240MB/sec. and a sustained write speed of 215MB/sec. The Lamborghini VX5 will also come with an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU and 4GB of RAM. "It features a 'twin turbo' mode that users can utilize to accelerate CPU and GPU performance via a speed key," Asus said. The notebook also has an illuminated "chiclet" keyboard that automatically lights up in low light conditions. The laptop's display is a 16-in. "full HD" screen -- 1080p, or 1920 by 1080 pixels -- along with a dedicated Nvidia GeForce GT 130M graphics chip with 1GB of GDDR 3 video RAM.
