I’ll continue extolling the virtues of Windows 7 with an interesting feat by a fellow geek. User hackerman1 from The Windows Club forums was able to run Windows 7 on a Pentium II 266 Mhz with only 96 MB of RAM. Microsoft claims you need at least 1 GB of RAM and 1 Ghz processor to run 7, but it’s looking like this may not be necessary.

Microsoft gives it’s official minimum requirements as:

• 1 GHz or faster processor
• 1 GB RAM (32-bit) / 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
• 16 GB available disk space
• DirectX 9 graphics processor
